Protect availability when it matters most
DDoS mitigation and bot management — keep your services online during volumetric and application-layer attacks, and stop credential stuffing, scraping and automated abuse.
DDoS and bot protection from Passeca defends the availability of your services. DDoS mitigation absorbs volumetric and application-layer attacks so legitimate users stay online, while bot management stops credential stuffing, scraping and automated abuse — tuned to your traffic so real customers are never blocked.
What are DDoS and bot attacks?
A distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack floods a service with traffic until legitimate users can no longer reach it. Volumetric attacks overwhelm bandwidth; application-layer attacks exhaust application resources with fewer, smarter requests. Both target availability rather than confidentiality.
Bot attacks use automation to abuse functionality at scale — credential stuffing (testing stolen logins), content scraping, inventory hoarding, and fraud. They look like normal traffic to a naive filter, which is why dedicated bot management is needed.
Who needs DDoS and bot protection?
- E-commerce and retail where peak-trading downtime is catastrophic.
- SaaS and online platforms that cannot afford to be unreachable.
- Login-gated services facing credential stuffing from breached password lists.
- Content businesses losing value to scraping and automated extraction.
What the service covers
From baseline to real-time response
- 01
Assess & baseline
We profile your traffic, identify peak events (Black Friday, product launches, registration windows), and baseline normal behaviour so defences can be tuned to your patterns.
- 02
Deploy & tune
We deploy DDoS mitigation and bot-management controls, tuned to distinguish legitimate users from automated and malicious traffic — minimising false positives that would block real customers.
- 03
24/7 monitoring
Traffic is monitored continuously for volumetric and application-layer attacks and bot anomalies, with alerts fed into PassIRP alongside your other security telemetry.
- 04
Respond & adapt
During an attack, we absorb or block malicious traffic and adapt rules in real time. Afterward, we tune the defences so the same attack pattern is caught automatically next time.
Mitigation + PassIRP correlation
Passeca is platform-agnostic. We typically recommend and deploy Akamai or Imperva (Thales), and we can also run and tune the DDoS and bot defences you already have. With Akamai, Prolexic scrubs network-layer attacks, either always-on or on-demand. App & API Protector handles application-layer (L7) floods, and Bot Manager with Account Protector detects automated traffic and credential-stuffing attempts at the edge. With Imperva, DDoS Protection covers websites, networks, individual IPs and DNS, and Advanced Bot Protection sorts traffic into humans, good bots and bad bots across websites, mobile apps and APIs.
Traffic events feed into PassIRP so attack traffic is correlated with the rest of your security picture — a credential-stuffing burst, for instance, is linked to the compromised-credential alerts from Signals.
How quickly can we protect you?
For an imminent peak event, baseline and deployment can be accelerated. Once in place, protection runs continuously, 24/7. Every engagement is scoped to your traffic and peak-event risk.
Which compliance requirements this supports
- PCI DSS — availability and protection of cardholder-data environments for e-commerce.
- ISO 27001 — availability controls and threat monitoring.
- NIS2 / DORA — operational resilience and availability for critical services.
